Latin Name: Copaifera officinalis

Description: The aroma of Balsam *Copaiba is warm, balmy, slightly sweet and woody with a hint of pepper. This oil is gentle, soothing and grounding in nature. Therapeutically, Balsam *Copaiba is anti-inflammatory, analgesic, anti-bacterial, anti-microbial, anti-anxiety, anti-spasmodic, soothes the lungs and makes a useful chest rub for spasmodic coughs or bronchial infections. This essential oil is said to support the immune system and its balmy qualities can assist with skin disorders such as dry/cracked hands/feet, acne, eczema or inflammation. Indigenous peoples of Central and South America have historically used Balsam *Copaiba for thousands of years for a variety of applications therapeutically, mostly relating to skin disorders, and also in ceremony for spiritual guidance, protection and right of passage. Energetically and emotionally, this essence can assist with quieting the mind and easing excessive worry or stress habits. This can be a useful essence to enhance meditation practices and to recover from energy leaks and exhaustion due to long term stress and anxiety.
