Maqui Berry Seed Oil

from $68.00

Sizes: 120mL, 500mL

Origin: Chile

Botanical Family: Elaeocarpaceae

Latin Name:  Aristotelai chilensis

Description: Also known as Chilean Wineberry, Maqui Berry Seed Oil is light and easily absorbed by the skin and hair follicles. The aroma is a subtle combination of sweet berries and green earthiness. It is high in anti-oxidants, rich in essential fatty acids and linoleic acid, and contains high amounts of vitamins A, B, C, and E. It is a UV protector, free-radical neutralizer, and it is known for its anti-aging and cell regenerative properties; making Maqui Berry Oil a useful ingredient in skin or hair care formulas. Maqui Berry oil is often used in hair formulas for damaged hair that breaks easily or has a dull appearance. It can be used as a supplement for the skin as well as for other systems of the body, as it also supports kidney, spleen, liver and heart health. It is known to be effective for ailments such as heart disease, cholesterol balancing, blood sugar balancing/diabetes, inflammation, arthritis, and eye health. While this gift from the temperate rainforests of the southwest coast of South America is fairly new to the market of aromatherapy and herbalism, Maqui Berries have reportedly been used by the Mapuche natives of Chile and Argentina for centuries as food and as a medicinal tonic.

*Carrier oils have a shorter shelf life. I recommend storing them in the fridge to preserve their therapeutic properties.
