Description: The aroma is sweet, minty and refreshing. The sweet birch is gentler and more of a tonic than the yellow. This essence is warming, centering and reinforces one’s endurance and willpower. Medicinally, it has strong analgesic qualities, is anti-inflammatory, anti-rheumatic, anti-arthritic, anti-spasmatic, astringent, a blood purifier and a liver tonic. This warming essence should be layered in between two cool temp essences (ex. lavender and cypress). Birch has high levels of naturally occurring methyl salicylate (the active ingredient in aspirin) making it ideal for joint/muscle pain, or injury.
